JFS is partnering with Sholom to bring the benefits of gardening to Sholom residents as we volunteer together to share the bounty of the season with a worthy organization in the greater community, Open Arms of Minnesota. We’re seeking 15-20 friends to support residents by volunteering to harvest and package garden produce on Thursday, September 12 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Sholom Shaller gardens.

JFS is excited to announce the launch of our second Para-Chaplain Cohort, the unique and in-depth training of volunteers to work with Jews in need throughout our Twin Cities community. The training will be held on Mondays for seven weeks from November 4 through December 16 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at JFS. Interested in being a part of this program? Mark your calendars for the Twin Cities Jewish Community Mental Health Conference – an event that has been raising awareness of mental health issues, reducing stigma and providing support for individuals, families and professionals since 2001. The event, Creating Healing and All that Jazz which is free and open to people of all faiths and spiritualities will be held Sunday, October 20, at Temple Israel in Minneapolis.
