Adel Kuchyk Joins JFS
Adel Kuchyk has joined JFS as the coordinator for the new grant-funded Community Connections program. In this role, Adel will support older adults within the immigrant Russian-speaking community with a history of trauma to address isolation by planning and providing social connections and programs as well as assisting in community building.
She is a native Russian and Ukrainian speaker who is also fluent in English. Adel previously taught English classes to Russian and Ukrainian speakers and established a program in Iowa with a focus on cultural shock and trauma for Ukrainian refugees helping more than 70 refugees adapt and integrate into the community and improving English speaking skills.
