Next Chapter for Women to Meet in July

JFS invites all who identify as women and are navigating the mid-life journey to join the popular Next Chapter for Women on Sunday, July 23 from 10:00-11:30AM at JFS. The series is designed to help women re-imagine new possibilities for the future and take the first steps in moving forward.

Back by popular demand, this month’s topic will be parenting adult children. “The topic of parenting adult children has been requested often over the years,” said JFS Community Engagement Manager Jodi Saltzman. “I’ve searched extensively for the perfect podcast, book or article to share to kick off our discussion on this topic. It was not until I came across the title of an article in the Atlantic, ‘There Is No Road Map for the Longest Phase of Parenthood,’ that everything started to make sense for this session.”

While the article misses some factors of parenting adult children, such as the fact that many families have parents who are estranged from their adult children, it does speak to why it is difficult to find great resources and why this topic is so highly requested. The group will discuss the article and other missing factors that contribute to the ubiquitous search for parenting wisdom.

RSVP your attendance to JFS Community Programs Coordinator Anne Myers at amyers@jfssp.org or call (651) 359-7775.

Next Chapter Series is free and open to all; however, donations are appreciated at jfssp.org/donate.
