Volunteer to Help Seniors Celebrate the High Holy Days
High Holy Days Card Decoration
Stop by the JFS office between August 29 and September 2 to pick up cards to decorate. Completed cards must be delivered back to JFS by September 7. Cards colored by children are especially popular with our clients!
High Holy Days Gift Bag Delivery
Deliver bags to Jewish clients of the JFS Community Chaplaincy program at their homes around the St. Paul area. Clients mostly live in buildings, such as assisted living, where masks may be required. Wish people a happy and sweet new year! Bags will be delivered September 9 through 21.
High Holy Days Helpers
Join one of our chaplains from the JFS Community Chaplaincy program at a High Holy Days celebration in senior living facilities. Helpers may greet guests, sit with people with dementia during the ceremony, and/or blow the shofar. These celebrations will take place during weekday, daytime hours September 12 through 21. Training will be provided on September 8 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
