Next Chapter Series to Meet in June

Next Chapter Series

JFS’ popular Next Chapter Series will meet on Sunday, June 26 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at JFS. The title of this month’s meeting is “We Can Do Hard Things: Menopause-Understanding our Bodies Should Not Have to be a Radical Act of Feminism.”

Everyone is welcome to join the group for a discussion about menopause. If you plan to attend, jump start your thinking by listening to one or both episodes of Glennon Doyle’s podcasts We Can Do Hard Things from April 26th and April 28th, 2022.

  • Is menopause a reboot of the brain and an opportunity to reallocate mental resources?
  • Dr. Jen Gunter’s advice–and personal mantra–for surviving hot flashes.
  • A strategy and script for how to talk to your doctor without being dismissed.
  • The lies and truth about menopause hormone therapy.
  • What we need to know about our bodies and lives during menopause.

Dr. Jen Gunter is the guest host on Glennon Doyle’s podcast. She is an OB/GYN and pain medicine physician and the author of The Menopause Manifesto, The Vagina Bible, and The Preemie Primer. She is the host of the podcast Body Stuff (TED Audio Collective) and of the streaming docuseries Jensplaining (CBC Gem).

Glennon Doyle is an American author and activist known for her #1 New York Times bestsellers Untamed, Love Warrior, and Carry On, Warrior. Doyle is also the creator of the online community Momastery, and is the founder and president of Together Rising, an all-women-led nonprofit organization supporting women, families, and children in crisis.
