JHSUM Produces Story of Jews in the Twin Cities

JFS is proud to support a video produced by Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest. “To Repair the World” tells the story of the first Jews who settled here and how the community came together to help each other, and help themselves.

The most profound activity of Jewish social action and welfare was when the second major wave of Eastern European Jews began arriving in the late 1800’s. The Jewish community was almost overwhelmed with the numbers that continued to arrive. But many organizations, including Jewish Family Service of St. Paul, were created to help.​
