Through your incredible generosity, JFS has exceeded its goal of $40,000 for our #StayHomeMN Celebration of Service, raising $41,000!
Your gift to JFS allows us to assist thousands of people who face the most ordinary and extraordinary circumstances in their lives. People like 82-year-old Kwan. Her insurance denied a stair lift for her so she could reach her only bathroom on the second floor. We advocated for her and were able to get the lift installed.
Thanks to you, we are able to offer a sliding fee scale to people like Carol. Reduced fees allow her to meet with our counselors to reduce her depression.
We were also able to help Shirley move closer to her son so that, with his help and several in-home personal care services, she could remain safely in her own home.
During COVID, we’ve been able to help pay the rent for several substitute teachers who lost their income when classes moved online. Since the pandemic began, we’ve had a 250 percent increase in requests for financial assistance.
