HELP US REACH OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL!

#StayHomeMN Celebration of Service Fundraiser

This year, we are not able to gather for our annual fundraiser, Celebration of Service. With this cancellation, our revenue and reserves have suffered large losses. We have incurred significant costs to enable JFS employees to work remotely so that we can continue to provide life-saving human services to the community.

Our fundraising goal for this annual campaign is $40,000. Many have donated in support of our mission. We’re only $11,000 from our goal!

Your donation will underwrite the following services:

Kosher Meals on Wheels requests have increased 50 percent. Did you know that $250 will help us deliver Kosher meals to an isolated senior for one month.

With the rate of unemployment at 14.7 percent, our emergency financial aid requests have increased 250 percent. A gift of $500 will pay for utility assistance for three clients who lost their jobs, and $5,000 allows 10 families to avoid eviction by helping them pay a month’s rent.

Once businesses reopen and the unemployed start looking for a new job, we expect our employment services to be overwhelmed with requests. Your donation of $2,000 will help 10 individuals find jobs.

As we wrestle with the cancellation of summer plans, vacations and celebrations and the support we receive from socializing with our friends and family is no longer there, loneliness, depression and anxiety can easily set in. Inquiries for our human and mental health services have increased 300 percent since the COVID pandemic began. Your donation of $1,000 will pay for 10 counseling sessions.

Please give generously today to help us meet our goal.
