New Friendly Remote Visitor Program Seeks Volunteers
While we need to be physically distant, we want to remain socially and spiritually connected. In response, JFS has organized a new way to engage with individuals in our community. Friendly Remote Visitors reach out by telephone to individuals who might be experiencing isolation, or who would just like someone to chat with. They help ensure that the individual knows that someone cares and is thinking of them, while also offering a connection to the JFS community.
Following an easy background check and training, an opening “script” and suggestions for discussion starters will be provided to volunteers. Expect approximately 20 minutes per call, once per week or as agreed on.
