JFS PEARLS Counselors Train Others
JFS PEARLS counselors and PEARLS master trainers Kaci Christnovich and Avi Zadaka conducted a two-day training for staff from the Korean Service Center in Minneapolis.
During October, six members of the Service Center came to JFS’s first PEARLS master training class. The skills and tools offered in the program help participants 55 and older address life’s problems and make ongoing plans to engage in a variety of pleasurable, meaningful activities. PEARLS is an evidence-based, straight-forward approach to depression in older adults.
It was the first PEARLS master training conducted by JFS. The Korean Service Center is now the second agency in the state to offer PEARLS counseling services to older adults. They expect to deliver this program to many older-adult clients.
