Interfaith Mental Health Collaborative Presents Seminar on Moving Past Anxiety

The Interfaith Mental Health Collaborative will present “Moving From Anxiety to Optimal Well-Being” with guest speaker Dr. L. Read Sulik from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Sulik is a pediatrician, adult and child psychiatrist, and CEO/Chief Medical Officer of Praestan Health.

Attendees will learn how to move from anxiety to optimal wellness; find out what other congregations are doing in the area of mental health; and gather resources to bring back to their own community. The event is open to congregational staff, lay leaders, members interested in mental health, and clergy of all faiths.

Register here by April 19. Space is limited. Box lunches meeting kosher and halal guidelines will be provided. A $10 per person donation is request; however, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Those in need of subsidy should contact Amy Weiss.

The event is sponsored by JFS, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS), and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Interfaith Mental Health Collaborative represents more than 25 diverse faith communities and mental health advocacy organizations in the Twin Cities working together to provide education and share best practices around mental health issues.
