JFS is excited to announce the launch of our second Para-Chaplain Cohort, the unique and in-depth training of volunteers to work with Jews in need throughout our Twin Cities community. The training will be held on Mondays for seven weeks from November 4 through December 16 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at JFS. Interested in being a part of this program? Applications to volunteer are available here. The deadline to apply is October 11.

Mark your calendars for the Twin Cities Jewish Community Mental Health Conference – an event that has been raising awareness of mental health issues, reducing stigma and providing support for individuals, families and professionals since 2001. The event, Creating Healing and All that Jazz which is free and open to people of all faiths and spiritualities will be held Sunday, October 20, at Temple Israel in Minneapolis.

We'll meet at Target at the Quarry in Northeast Minneapolis, 1650 New Brighton Blvd at 6 pm to shop for B'Yachad Holiday Gift Program recipients and their families.
Following the shopping spree, we'll gather at Sociable CiderWerks, 1500 Fillmore St. NE, for complimentary snacks, drinks and non-alcoholic beverages, and a conversation on the work of JFS, and the role of all of us in making Minnesota a warm, welcoming place and empowering immigrant families through JFS.
JFS invites women who are navigating or embarking on a mid-life journey to another session of the popular Next Chapter Series on Sunday, January 12 in the JFS Board Room. Participation is free; however registration is required.
Psychologist Ruth Markowitz will help the group explore aging and friendships. The time of this session is slightly longer, from 10:00AM to noon. Refreshments will be available beginning at 9:45AM.
